Kolton Atkinson is the Head Coach for Skyline's lacrosse team. He joined the Skyline lacrosse program in the 2021/22 season as the Varsity Offensive Coordinator, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and a deep passion for the game.
Kolton's lacrosse journey began at Park City High School, where he excelled as an attackman. He experienced the highs of winning a state championship and the lows of losing in a state championship game. His outstanding performances earned him the prestigious honor of being named an All-American.
Continuing his lacrosse career at the collegiate level, Kolton played NCAA DII lacrosse at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, UT. There, he showcased his versatility and skills as both a midfielder and an attackman, and in 2019, he was part of the team that secured Westminster's first RMAC championship.
Colt Bartnicki joined Skyline for the 2022/23 season as the Varsity Defensive Coordinator, bringing his expertise and passion for the game to the Eagles. Colt's experience as a defenseman has made him a valuable asset to the team.
Colt's lacrosse journey began during his high school years at Herriman High School, where he showcased his skills as a formidable defenseman. His dedication and commitment to the game earned him a spot on the collegiate stage.
Continuing his lacrosse career at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, UT, Colt played NCAA DII lacrosse. As a defenseman, he played an integral role in the team's success, contributing to Westminster's first-ever RMAC championship in 2019. Colt's defensive prowess and leadership qualities make him a valuable addition to the coaching staff at Skyline.
Gabe Goorman brings over a decade of lacrosse experience and a wealth of expertise to the Skyline lacrosse coaching staff. Gabe's lacrosse journey began at East High School in Salt Lake City, where he was a dedicated four-year varsity lacrosse player. His outstanding performance on the field earned him the prestigious titles of First Team All-Conference and Team Captain in his senior year, showcasing his leadership and skill.
Continuing his passion for lacrosse, Gabe played attack at Elmhurst University, contributing significantly to the team's success at the NCAA D3 level. Gabe's playing experience at both the high school and collegiate levels provides a valuable perspective that he now brings to coaching.
JV Head Coach and Strength and Conditioning Coach: Jarron Cozad brings a wealth of diverse athletic experience to the lacrosse field. His journey in sports started early, playing baseball and soccer from ages 5 to 17. In college, he transitioned to rugby at Utah State, showcasing his adaptability and determination. Jarron holds a certification in weightlifting and boasts state records in his age group for Clean, Snatch, and Clean and Jerk, reflecting his commitment to excellence in physical training.
Off the field, Jarron is not only a coach for the high school lacrosse team but also serves as a T-Ball coach for his 5-year-old, embodying his passion for nurturing young athletes. In his personal life, Jarron is a proud family man, raising three kids aged 16, 14, and 5.
Professionally, Jarron's expertise extends beyond sports. Over the past 15 years, he has been at the forefront of building leadership development programs and leading global teams. His involvement in lacrosse spans several years, making him a valuable asset to the team, bringing a unique blend of athletic prowess, coaching experience, and leadership acumen. Jarron Cozad is not just a coach; he is a mentor, a record holder, and a leader both on and off the field.
Ian Sime joined Skyline for the 2021/22 season as the Varsity Defensive Coordinator for the Eagles and quickly made his mark, becoming the Head Coach for the 2022/23 season. Now, Ian has transitioned to the role of Goalie Coach, where he continues to impart his expertise and passion for the game.
Prior to his time at Skyline, Ian coached at Wasatch High School, where he played an instrumental role in leading the Wasps to a UHSAA 5A Quarterfinal appearance. Ian's passion for lacrosse started during his high school years at Park City High School, where he excelled as a goalie. During his time there, he experienced both the thrill of winning and the disappointment of losing in a state championship game. His skill and dedication led him to play NCAA DII lacrosse at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, UT, where he further honed his skills as a goalie. In 2019, Ian was part of the team that achieved a historic milestone for the program, winning Westminster's first RMAC championship.
Not content with his achievements in the United States, Ian continued his lacrosse journey by playing in Grad School at Nottingham Trent University in Nottingham, UK. There, he took on a new role as a defenseman and was part of the BUCS National Championship-winning team.
